The service
The app provides search and retrieval over the Bhagavad Gita and the Mahabharata. It is free, and we may change, limit or stop it at any time. Fair-use rate limits apply.
Texts and sources
The Bhagavad Gita translations are by Shri Purohit Swami and Swami Sivananda (public domain), lightly modernised as published in the open gita/gita dataset (Unlicense), which is also the source of the Sanskrit text. The IAST transliteration is generated from the Sanskrit, and the chapter summaries are written by us. The Mahabharata is Kisari Mohan Ganguli's English translation (1883-1896, public domain), via Project Gutenberg.
